this is my momma.
today was her annual plant sale where she sales plants that she has cared for since fall. every fall she lovingly spends her time out in the garden working, planting, and praying. its what she loves. and up until today i held some resentment because this was her passion. its what she breathes. its where she meets with God. and up until today it drove me crazy. i didn't understand. i couldn't understand what would possess someone to spend so much time in dirt. but i saw her in action today.
for the first time i watched my mom do something she loves. she spent time with people talking about plants and how they grow and where they grow. and while all of that might bore me, it brought life to mom's face. a life i haven't seen in a long time. and as i sit here and write this it brings me to tears because i've been so selfish. its her passion. and maybe just maybe i'm a bit envious.
she knows her passion, she has a way to express her passion. and i'm not sure what my passion is. i'm not sure i have a way to express the passion that i do feel. in the past few days/weeks, i've been asked several times either my a friend or even from a book, if i could do anything, if i could create a dream job, what would it be? even tonight as i read some random fiction book, the question was posed again.
so as i watched my mom today, doing what she loves, i've been inspired. i've been challenged to find that passion. to have an answer next time my wonderful friend asks me, what do you want to do with your life.
i want to be able to do what i love, just like my mom.

There's nothing better than watching someone operating in their God-given gifts and talents with passion and purpose. Your mom has given you a wonderful example, LeAnne!!
