connected

we are all connected somehow.

we are all created in his image.

christian or not.

we are all created in HIS image. there is a connection in that. we are all humans. created by God. but we don't act like it. some think they are better because of status. race. money. gender. and this list could go on and on. but as a follower of Christ, i believe we were all made in his image. every single one of us. if i really thought about that as i treated the people around me, would it change? as i talk with my waiter, cashier, mechanic, doctor, the homeless man on the corner... would i see them different if i saw them made in God's image?

so the past few months i've had a lot of conversations about connection. we all want to have and feel connection with others and with God. through choices ive made, some deliberate, some not done so wisely, i've been disconnected. the deliberate choices were done because i needed to learn. learn about connection, learn about relationships. learn how to make wise decisions about who to connect with.

it hasn't been an easy lesson for me. i thought going into it i was a person that didn't need connection. i would be just fine. wrong. i'm human. i need connection with others. its the way God wired me. and you. so i see a need for connection. and i have to decide (so another important lesson i've learned is about choice!) what and where and with whom i will connect. i will be deliberate.

as i began to search for connection, i failed to see that it was right in front of me. i failed to make the connection between what was in front and what i was longing for. but i got it. and ive learned a lot about myself in the process. i've learned im made for connection. i've learned that sometimes i have to be the one to make the connection. i've learned that there are periods of loneliness and i can get through them, i can still have connections through them, and i can rely on God for what i need.

connection.
it's good for you :)
