i love the rain. theres something about rain that makes me slow down. to rest. to relax. to forget about the worries of my life and take a deep breath. i love the rain.
when it rains, i don't want to do anything. i have plently to do, my list is getting longer by the minute but i really enjoy a rainy day on the couch. i feel like rain gives me permission to not be so busy. b/c in reality there will always be a list. but when it rains its the only time i can really put it aside and not feel guilty.
why does it take rain to make me slow down? slow down long enough to enjoy a book, an old tv show, time with the people i love.
why are we so busy? why are we so insistent on doing it all, having it all? what would it look like if we all slowed down? if we spent time with family? with friends? with God?
how do you slow down? i slow down when it rains but as soon as the sun comes out, i get off the couch and hit the task list as hard as i can.
just my random thoughts as i lay on the couch, with the rain slowly hitting the windows and the sun trying to peek out, better get busy!
